TKFC & You
Membership
We operate a membership class three times a year, around February, July and November
The membership class is designed to intimate prospective parishioners with the following: vision and doctrine of the church, where we are coming from, where we are and where we are going, according to God’s plan.
Attendance at a membership class is prerequisite to joining a ministry team, getting baptised and getting married. Each membership class lasts no more than 30 minutes and is followed by an informal lunch with the Senior Pastor and the Leadership team of the church. It also enables us to place names to faces and faces to names.
We do this in accordance with 1 Timothy 5:22 (AMP) which says
“Do not hurry to lay hands on anyone [ordaining and approving someone for ministry or an office in the church, or in reinstating expelled offenders], and thereby share in the sins of others; keep yourself free from sin.”
Baptism
We run a Baptismal Class and Baptism by immersion once a year in September
Prospective candidates for Baptism must be at least 16 years old on the day of Baptism and must have attended a Membership class prior to the scheduled date for Baptism.
Holy Communion
As a church , we observe and partake in communion every first Sunday each month throughout the year.
Marriage Ceremonies
The church embraces and celebrates the sanctity of marriage and places great emphasis on it. Genesis 2:18 says
And the LORD God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
Marriage ceremonies are only available to parishioners who have completed the once-only membership class (see membership) of the church and have attended a mandatory pre-marital counselling program for a minimum of 6 months in accordance with the church’s marriage policy which is given to marrying couples for agreement of terms and conditions.
Marriage ceremonies take place at the church premises except indicated otherwise by the marrying couple.
Baby Dedications
This takes place on the first Sunday of the month by request. It is available only to parishioners who have completed the once-only membership class
A Baby Dedication is a simple ceremony in which a believing parent or parents of a recently born child or an older child or children not previously dedicated, make a commitment to the Lord before the church, to submit a child to God’s will and to raise and train that child in the fear and admonition of the Lord in accordance with scriptures
